Fast development and time-to-market at predictable scaling costs are critical for success in the IoT market. At the same time, because IoT devices are embedded systems and have connectivity requirements, developing software is more complex and requires a greater investment of resources. Android Things is a new version of Android designed to meet these IoT development challenges head on. It is a lightweight embedded OS that enables secure local and cloud connectivity over multiple wireless protocols. Moreover, Google manages the BSP and provides security via verified boot and Google managed updates.
