Fanless

Benefits

  • true silent operation.
  • optional waterproof and dustproof sealing for operation in harsh environments.
Applications that require silent operation are essential at some configurations such as medical sites, residential applications or audio studios. But not only there but also think about dusty environments were fans become more noisy with the day.

By using TechNexion's fanless products that can be sealed to waterproof/dustproof standards like NEMA 4/4X and IP65 can you deploy systems in every possible thinkable environment.

There are actually different ways to achieve fanless operation.

1. Using ULV (ultra low voltage) components. By using components that have a minimal power consumption you tackle the problem right at the point where it is coming from. Powerconsumption in computer systems is sooner or later converted into heat. The less power consumption. The less heat development.

2. Using convection cooling. This can be done by having a relative large internal volume in a computer unit that allows air to float freely.

3. Using heatpipes and heatsinks. This technology is used together with ULV and LV (low voltage) components. The principle of this technology is that you use heatpipes connected on one side to the heated components (such as the processor and core chipsets). On the other side you connect these heatpipes to heatsinks that are either embedded in the chassis or are part of the exterior of the chassis. The technology works as follow. The heatpipe is like an "expressway with the two ends connected to the heatsource and the heatsink. The heatpipe just want the temperature everywhere to be the same. Which means in reality that it is transporting heat from the heatsource towards the heatsinks.

TechNexion has experience in emplementing all above technologies and based on the designated project we can propose the best working solution to you.
